Veteran's Day Yogathon Teacher Introduction

Lisa Pike will be joining Eighteenth Element Yoga during the Yogathon honoring our Veterans.

Please join Lisa November 12th 1:30-3:00 P.M. And November 13th 3:00-4:30 P.M. During the Yogathon Event.

I have been in love with yoga since we became acquainted some 27 years ago. Other interests have peaked and waned, but yoga has always been a mainstay for me. I completed 200 hour yoga teacher training with Cambio Yoga Studio of Colorado Springs in the spring of 2012. I have been teaching (and most importantly...learning) ever since that. I have especially been influenced by Shiva Rea and the Jivamukti, Integral, Sivananda, and Kundalini yoga teachings. Currently, I am taking the 800 hour Traditional Yoga Studies Program with Brenda Feuerstein and delving into the history, literature, and philosophy of this ancient practice.

I became interested in yoga for trauma when I taught at the Spring Creek Juvenile Center. Our world has never had a shortage of trauma. In regards to the faces of trauma and the faces of therapy, I believe there really is nothing new under the sun. This is why I am studying ancient yoga. In ancient times, we had amazing methodologies for mending the bodymindspirit, but we have forgotten them. When I share yoga with others, I like to impart these forgotten pieces of yoga's amazing and authentic wisdom for healing and transformation.

Lisa Pike is registered with Yoga Alliance as an RYT 200.

That's a "WRAP"

Today we hosted a DIY wrap bracelet workshop. During the workshop we walked each student through the steps to make their bracelet while giving them the tools to costumize the bracelet. How does this fit into a Yoga Studio? Well to most studios it would probably just be another retail item but with EEY it's a perfect piece to or puzzle. One of our main themes is Gratitude and our main mission is to help those suffering from trauma. Forms of art are therapeutic which includes crafting in my opinion. It also empowers someone to create their own treasure giving the reminder to the student of the positive experience they had making the item. Most importantly these bracelets included a diffuser bead which enables the recipient to add an essential oil daily to the bracelet. Included in the workshop each student walked away with an oil blend to use with their bracelet. That blend was none other the"Gratitude". We had a wonderful time and hope that our students did as well. To learn more about oil blends and which ones are beneficial to those suffering from trauma join us in our Essential Oils workshop 2/27/2016 at 2:00pm.

Same class but each students is walking away with their unique bracelets.
